The AAAII congratulates Mauli Desai, MD, FACAAI for being awarded and honored with the Young Faculty Support Award. Dr Desai was presented the award at the ACAAI annual scientific meeting in San Antonio November 2015 at the Special Awards Ceremony. Dr Desai has currently been appointed as Assistant Professor of Medicine, Clinical Immunology at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York.

The AAAII congratulates Chitra Dinakar, MD, for being awarded the 2015 ACAAI Woman in Allergy Award. Dr. Dinakar receive the award during an awards ceremony at the ACAAI’s annual meeting in San Antonio November 2015.
The Woman in Allergy Award recognizes leadership, dedication and commitment to advancing the specialty.

We are excited about starting a mentorship program within our association to pair new allergists (<10 years in practice) with more senior allergists. The AAAII recently hosted a successful and well attended dinner symposium in Houston, TX.  Dr. Chitra Dinakar spoke about yellow zone management in asthma and Dr. Mariana Castells spoke about drug hypersensitivity.

The AAAII is proud to have hosted the recent multicity educational tour in India in November 2014.  The team included expert speakers and leaders in education and sparked the birth of the specialty of A/I in India.  Please see ACAAI newslink:
